The 24 Hour Comics challenge is simple; to complete 24 pages of Sequential Art of any size and with any medium. I'd read about the Event sites that were cropping up across the globe in an article online, and I figured it'd be knock down drag out awesome to gather some of the talent I knew was working right here in Kingston, many of them at jobs that wouldn't necessarily provide them with the creative outlet that this could and would. In 2006, I organized along with fellow Sheridan alumni Kevin Merritt one such 24 Hour Comics Event site at the Artel.
We'd plenty of food, not to mention art supplies from Wallacks and coffee from the Goat (how else could we have survived?) and stuck it out until the bitter ink and plastic eraser end. It was so much fun I organized a Comix Jam at the Minotaur and another 24hr Event in 2007 (afterwards the kids would keep Katie and I up so late, every day felt like a 24 Hour Comics Day Event). I scanned and published all the comics, finished and unfinished, online for all to see and you can read them by clicking on the links below.

Inspired by similar Events in Toronto and Montreal, we ran a Comix Jam at the Minotaur downtown in the Spring of 2007, inviting artists to simultaneously collaborate on a comic book. It was a welcome change of pace from the previous 24 Hour sessions. Click on the icon at right to view what we came up with- some comic pages had three or more artists contributing to the panels (very cool).
